First, make sure that your character is truly you. You are not making somebody up, simply enhancing and building on who you truly are and allowing people to relate to you.
A character should represent something. There are three basic types. This will be the building block for your storyline and your character.
1. Reluctant hero
2. Hometown girl makes good.
3. Us v. Them
The character and the storyline will help people to experience emotions and to bond with you and like you.
It will also make your more recognizable to your audience. This is similar to the voice you hear so much about on AR.
