Melia Fine Apparel and Antique Jewelery – A Jewel of a Boutique

Melia is a lovely boutique that opened in October of 2007 and is owned by the husband and wife team, Melia and Ben Hooker.

It is located at 406-32nd St. in Newport Beach, conveniently next door to William Harold Jewelers. Melia’s phone number is 949-566-9963.

Melia started off as mostly a clothing store and has evolved into more a vintage jewelry store.  Melia specializes in vintage Navajo silver, designer costume jewelry and many other types of vintage jewelry with semi-precious gems such as ivory, lapis, turqoise, garnets, pearl, bone, shell, wood and many other natural elements.

Melia loves to offer its clientele unique, “one of a kind” pieces whether for yourself or for a loved one.  Though they have a few more expensive pieces, the majority of the jewelery is priced at $200 or less, making it a great place to come for that special piece of jewelry.

This is an engaging little boutique with a lot of intriguing jewelry and very friendly staff willing to take the time to help you find just the right piece.

Over the next 6 months, Melia will be transforming into a jewelry and accessories boutique.  Its new name will be “M&B” for Melia and Ben.

In addition to the jewelry, Melia/M&B will also feature a handmade clothing line from a local designer.

If you’re wondering how Melia was fortunate to come across all of this vintage Navajo jewery, you might ask about Melia’s father’s collection.  As the person buying for William Harold Jewelers for the past many years, he’s come across a lot of great vintage pieces and now it’s available at Melia.

Melia carries on the family tradition of having a 50% off sale every July and December, so make a note on your calendars and stop by for some lovely jewelry.
