Take a Ride on the Balboa Fun Zone Carousel
Very few places allow you to take a ride on a carousel with a view of the water. Newport Beach is one of those places. When you ride the Balboa Fun Zone carousel, you have a gorgeious view of the Newport Bay and many of the boats that make up one of the world’s largest pleasure harbors.
The Balboa Fun Zone has been part of Newport Beach since 1936, and the carousel is one of its icons. The Balboa Fun Zone was revamped in the mid-80’s with the carousel holdings one of the top spots.
Placed up on a raised location, the Balboa Fun Zone carousel stands high above the Fun Zone allowing for the great view.
Both my children and I enjoy taking a ride on the Balboa Fun Zone carousel after enjoying a walk along the boardwalk, playing arcade games and enjoying a Balboa Bar.
Currently, it is $3 for a ride on the Balboa Fun Zone carousel, and children must be at least 50″ tall to ride without an adult.
Balboa Fun Zone ride hours:
Sunday – Thursday – 11am to 8pm
Friday – 11am to 9pm
Saturday – 11am to 10pm
