Remember 9-11

My parents’ generation always spoke about where they were when JFK was shot and how they would always remember.

How odd, I thought until September 11, 2001.

How will any of us alive that day ever forget?

How will we forget that thousands of Americans died that day for no reason other than they were Americans?

How will we forget the heroes who rushed to save those in need and lost their own lives through their bravery?

How will we forget the renewed patriotism that brought our country together in those days after the attacks on our country?

It has been eight years since the vicious attacks occurred.  How many of you still feel anger and chills when you think of 9-11?

May we never forget that day, and how people triumphed that day by standing up to evil.

Today, our country suffers through the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.

May we use this day to remember not only those we lost and those brave souls who tried to help them but also to remember how great this country is and that together we are strong enough to triumph.
